WILDERNESS CAMP at MARVINE LAKES |
![]() |
If you enjoy the outdoors
and horseback riding, our summer camp may be the perfect place
to spend a few days. You will ride gentle experienced mountain
horses 8 miles into the wilderness on a scenic trail that is
neither difficult nor steep, to the Marvine Lakes at an elevation
of 9300 feet.
The camp has a cooking and dining tent, several sleeping tents with cots and foam pads, latrine and shower and is the best-equipped wilderness camp in the region. Fishing from the lakeshore or rowboats is within walking distance from camp. |

Our wranglers and guides will cook and serve your meals, take care of the horses and do the camp chores, guide you on day rides and all you have to do is bring your sleeping bag and have a great time. Another way to enjoy the camp is to take your own food and do your own cooking and camp chores in the same well equipped camp. It is more economical and just as much fun. Or if youd like to camp using your own gear we can pack you and your gear into the wilderness and come back and get you on a pre-arranged date. The wilderness camp is available from late in June when the ice comes off the lake (and the fishing is great) until September when the elk start to bugle. |
